Casual Day Theme 2023: Share A Smile
As the famous lyric goes, “you are never fully dressed without a smile.”, this rings especially true for those who face ongoing challenges in an inequitable world. A smile is a start to breaking down barriers and bridging the gaps that society creates. A smile is a universal language of support, positivity and unity. It can bring hope to those who feel alone and remind us that we are seen, heard, and valued.
With this in mind, we are excited to announce our 2023 Casual Day theme is… ‘Share a Smile’.
Save the date! Casual Day takes place on Friday 1 September 2023 in support of persons with disabilities! Remember, a smile costs nothing, however your R20 donation for a Casual Day Sticker or purchase of supporter merchandise can mean the world to those who need it most.
One smile can initiate a chain-reaction of love, kindness, goodwill and caring. By SHARING A SMILE you welcome others to do the same. This theme lends itself to a multitude of interpretations, however at its core it is about the earnest smiles of actual people.
Instead of dressing up as an oversized emoji why not emphasize your own, unique smile with make-up. So please SHARE YOUR SMILE; broadly, awkwardly, shyly – but please share it with everyone this CASUAL DAY!
Now in our 29th year, together we have raised and distributed over R435 337 million rand countrywide; uplifting and spreading hope. This year, South Africans big and small can get their retro-inspired Stickers, T-Shirts, Caps and Bucket Hats to show their support. These vibey items are available from Casual Day’s website at www.casualday.co.za and from participating NPOs, community based organisations, schools, retailers and companies.
What to Wear
The kindest thing you can wear is your SMILE plus a Casual Day Sticker and Merchandise – T-Shirts, Caps and Bucket Hats are now available to pre-order. Donations received from stickers and supporter items directly benefit Disability sector organizations and schools throughout South Africa, so please be sure to get yours from participating NPOs, our website, government departments, companies and schools.
